Russian watchdog allows 3 Turkish companies to import tomatoes
MOSCOW, Oct 31 (PRIME) -- The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight has allowed three Turkish companies – Ozaltin, Agrobay, and SURAL – to export tomatoes to Russia starting from Wednesday, the service said in a statement on Tuesday.
Moscow banned tomato imports from Turkey as part of retaliation measures from January 1, 2016 after Ankara downed a Russian Su-24 bomber. On October 27, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a government order approving imports of 50,000 tonnes of tomatoes from Turkey from Wednesday, November 1.
